About colour dominance: the colour you hold to the left will be slightly more prominent than the other. This is because of the direction we knit in. But it's not as if you have to pick one colour to be dominant in the entire project. It's easy to switch midrow. A friend was taught to always hold the colour that had the least number of stitches in the row to the left.

I like how in the Rioux pattern, Jennifer Beale tells you which colour should be the background colour. I hold that one in my right hand and the dominant colour in my left hand.

I was left literally speechless by the beauty of the Harmony part. Each one of Simone's pictures depicted a different mood of the island in colour and composition, from the clear blue skies reflecting on a placid river to the dark brooding sky over the ocean. They were just beautiful! And then came the video of the sunrise over the waves - my goodness!! Through it all , we were carried away by the evocative notes of the wonderful piano piece. What a gift you gave all of us. You not only gifted us with sharing the beauty around you, but also in the time you dedicated to recording the podcast not once but twice. For that we are so very grateful. You managed to stick it through and get the task done, with the charm, camaraderie and humour that is now a trademark. Thank you for bringing peace and beauty to our lives.💖💖💖

Elizabeth Zimmerman recommended adding 2 or 3 sets of short rows, distributed along length of sweater. Posture, lack of female endowment, and often just being male causes sweaters to ride up in back. ( Next time you're in a public place, check out of frequently this is true for sweaters and sweatshirts on a variety of frames.) Adding these short rows can help with this problem. I have learned that it is necessary for me and my body to do this.

As we age, the need for short rows changes. It is better to do them at the top if you have kyphosis from osteoporosis fractures. The new generation of younger people who are always looking down at their phones will need more short rows because their posture is a head forward and down position. Putting short rows after a colorwork section prevents the colorwork from sitting level on the body; putting them at the top makes the colorwork sit level with the floor, even though it starts farther below the ribbing on the back neck.

Colour dominance became a reality for me when I knit “Striped Mittens, Variations on a Theme” by Robin Hansen in her book “Ultimate Mittens”. She uses yarn dominance to create the appearance of colour change without actually changing the colour order. Of course Simone and Kim are correct knowing how it works can help you eliminate it when unwanted.
